2B: Beyond 3 Minutes and a Mic: Promoting Meaningful Participation
Limited Capacity seats available

CSOs have important contributions to make to public policy development.  Too often, however, opportunities for input are pro forma and do not result in meaningful CSO participation. In this session, speakers from around the world will share innovative tools to ensure that citizen voices are heard loud and clear, from online consultations in Poland to cross-sector drafting groups in Iraq.

Resource Materials:

  1. Manual on Public Participation in the Law Making Process
  2. Comparative Overview of European Standards and Practices in Regulating Public Participation
  3. Criteria and Procedures for Selection of Civil Society Organizations in Cross-Sector Bodies
  4. Models for Cooperation and Participation on a Local Level: A Comparative Overview
  5. E-democracy and building the Open Parliament | Cristiano Ferri | TEDxLiberdade
