Freedom of expression is recognized as a universal human right. But are there valid restrictions on its exercise? This advanced session will build the capacity of participants to engage on some of the more difficult freedom of expression questions, discussing major debates surrounding issues such as incitement, hate speech, and blasphemy.
Note: We encourage all participants who are interested in freedom of expression, but who do not have a background in the legal protections for freedom of expression, to also participate in the International Legal Protections for Freedom of Expression session.
