4D: Redefining Returns: Impact Investing for Economic and Social Change

According to a recent G8 taskforce report, “the world is on the brink of a revolution on how we solve society’s toughest problems.  The force capable of driving the revolution is ‘social impact investing’, which harnesses entrepreneurship, innovation, and capital to power social improvement.”  This session will explain what impact investing is; identify some of the enabling factors, legal barriers, and challenges that investees and investors have overcome; and identify reform strategies that can help ease these barriers.
