3A: Beyond the Usual Suspects
Limited Capacity seats available

NGO coalitions, government officials, lawmakers – civic space advocacy usually centers on these groups.  But how can CSOs move beyond the “usual suspects” to increase the effectiveness of their advocacy efforts?  Faith-based organizations, musicians and artists can effectively reach and mobilize the public and we have much to learn from them. This session will help participants think creatively about how to engage unusual allies in promoting civil society space.

Resource Materials:

  1. Defending Civil Society Report
  2. Defending Civil Society Toolkit
  3. Experience Maidan – Citizens assembling for their country | Ruslana | TEDxLiberdade
