Oonagh Breen is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the Sutherland School of Law, University College Dublin, Ireland where she teaches NGO Law, Governance and Social Change. She obtained her doctorate in law (JSD) in comparative nonprofit regulation from Yale Law School in 2006. Oonagh’s research focuses on issues relating to comparative charity regulation and governance and the role of nonprofit-state collaboration in public policy formation and development. Her research has been published in such journals as Voluntas, Financial and Accounting Management Journal, Public Law, Non-profit Policy Forum and the International Journal for Not-for-Profit Law. Appointed to the Board of Directors of the International Centre for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL) in 2013, she is also a member of the Board of the International Society of Third Sector Research and is an active member of the European Law Institute (ELI). She currently serves on the Irish Charity Regulatory Authority’s accounting and reporting task group and on the Irish Interim Regulatory Committee for Approved Housing Bodies.
